I’m a very impulsive and impatient person. I’m also a shopaholic. For a moment, I wondered if my impulsive actions are considered to be spontaneous or reckless? Am I seizing the moment or being careless? The thought was dismissed almost immediately. To some, my behavior may seem hasty, but to me, it’s obvious that I am simply making the most of life. Good Scents
Have you ever walked through the mall when suddenly, an enchanted aroma happens to sneak it’s way to your nose? For that one moment, however short, your mind is nowhere except where that scent takes you. A great scent can stop you in your tracks, allowing you to seize that moment. Often, you are even enticed to verbalize the sheer enjoyment which the scent has brought. Someone smells good!
Apart from simply being pleasant, a perfume or cologne can act as a time machine, transporting you to a very specific time and place, or reminding you of a specific person. When a scent triggers a memory, that memory is much more vivid than it would be without the aroma. Continue reading
It’s an Everyday Thing
As I walk out of my apartment, I glance at my watch–only 2 minutes behind. I walk through the humidity, jump into my shiny red beetle, and blast the AC (because even at 7am in South Florida it’s disgustingly hot).
I’m on the phone when suddenly I hear this thunderous sound which startles me to the point that my iPhone flies out of my hand and onto the floor by my feet. A motorcycle zooming by. Gets me Every. Single. Time!
Luckily (well, actually un-luckily) I’m in traffic that has Kendall Drive looking like a parking lot, so I don’t have much trouble getting my phone back. As I finished up my daily phone calls, I start thinking about what to do next. Continue reading
